Millions were captivated watching bald eagles raising their young on the Decorah Eagle Nest Camera. The National Eagle Center is pleased to welcome Bob Anderson, of the Raptor Resource Project – the group that brought the Decorah Eagle Nest Camera to the world – to share stories about this amazing project on February 11^th 2012.

Enjoy a soup and salad lunch upstairs at Slippery’s Bar and Grill (10 Church Ave, Wabasha, MN), a fantastic view of bald eagles along the Mississippi River and hear all about the adventures of the Decorah eagle family from the man who knows them best.  Seating begins at 11:30 am, lunch will be served at 12pm. Tickets are $20, $15 for members. Ticket includes luncheon with Bob Anderson and admission to the National Eagle Center, just a few blocks from Slippery’s Bar and Grill. A limited number of tickets will be available, so make sure you get your today!

Bob Anderson has been working to restore healthy raptor populations for decades. His work in the recovery of the Peregrine Falcon in the upper Midwest is well respected. A more recent project involved placing a camera above a bald eagle nest near the Raptor Resource Project outside Decorah, Iowa. Last year, that camera featured a nesting pair of eagles laying eggs, incubating, hatching and successfully fledging three young eaglets. More than 9 million people watched as these eagles tenderly reared their young. One eaglet, D1, is being tracked with a small satellite transmitter to find out more about the travels of juvenile eagles.
