Educational Programs

National Eagle Center Educational Programs

Educational Programs are usually held at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. each day, although during summer, weekends and other busy times we hold the programs numerous times per day, providing visitors many opportunities to learn about our national bird, as well as participate in Q & A sessions. Education programs are open to all visitors, and each provides a possibility of seeing an eagle have its lunch for the day!

  • Refer to these sessions as education programs because people are sometimes disappointed if we call it a feeding program the eagle does not eat.
  • You can contact Bridget Befort to make reservations for your in-house or outreach programs
  • Program lengths are generally 45 minutes to an hour, depending upon on number questions and presenter
  • All presenters are unique in their style of presentation
  • After program, there is generally an opportunity for photos with an eagle in the 1st floor rotunda area – no charge with your camera, but donations are welcome, and $5 per print with our camera

Group Programs
Group programs are available, and recommended for groups of 15 or more people to get group rate. Each program involves an eagle handler with explanation of the lives and habits of eagles, and a possible feeding of the eagle

There is a small fee for in-house group programs, and advance registration is required.

Outreach Programs
Harriet, Angel and Columbia are available to make personal appearances for programs and events. Ideally they should be scheduled with the National Eagle Center Staff as far in advance as possible to allow for flexibility regarding scheduling and eagle availability.

Basic eagle programs last an hour and fees start at $350, plus round trip mileage. Longer programs, special events, or additional eagles are also possible.

Contact Bridget Befort for your in-house or outreach program reservations.
