Daily Education Programs

Educational Programs are usually held at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. each day, although during summer, weekends and other busy times we hold the programs numerous times per day, providing visitors many opportunities to learn about our national bird, as well as participate in Q & A sessions. Education programs are open to all visitors, and each provides a possibility of seeing an eagle have its lunch for the day!

Groups Welcome!

Group programs are available, and recommended for groups of 15 or more people to get group rate. Each program involves an eagle handler with explanation of the lives and habits of eagles, and a possible feeding of the eagle

There is a small fee for in-house group programs, and advance registration is required.

Outreach Programs

Harriet, Angel and Columbia are available to make personal appearances for programs and events. Ideally they should be scheduled with the National Eagle Center Staff as far in advance as possible to allow for flexibility regarding scheduling and eagle availability.

Basic eagle programs last an hour and fees start at $350, plus round trip mileage. Longer programs, special events, or additional eagles are also possible.

Golden Eagle Research Project

Many of you may know that NEC Program Specialist, Scott Mehus, has been watching Golden Eagles for over 14 years. He has been actively studying them in the river valley for over 10 years. Through his pioneering efforts, other birders, citizens and researchers are realizing the numbers of Golden Eagles that spend winter in this area. more

Veterans

At the National Eagle Center, honoring our Veterans and active military is a daily practice, not a sporadic thought. Our five eagles have been dedicated to those who have fought to preserve the freedom that our nation and its people enjoy. If you are a Veteran or Active Military, you are invited to the National Eagle Center AT NO COST. You are our honored guests, greatly appreciated for your service and sacrifice. Read about our programs for veterans HERE.
